Multiple sclerosis/Demyelinating disease
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic demyelinating disease which involves the brain and less often, the spinal cord. It is the second most common cause of neurological impairment in young adults, second only to trauma.The lesions can be present without symptoms though the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis requires an event of neurological symptoms to have occurred on more than one occasion.
