Heterogeneous prostate
A heterogeneous prostate gland describes the changes in appearance of the gland that occur over a lifetime. The cause of these changes is believed to be age related, hormonal, and as a result of prostatitis (infection or inflammation) as well as from development of benign prostatic hyperplasia nodules and cysts.
