Heterogeneous appearance of thyroid
Heterogeneous appearance of the thyroid refers to the MRI appearance of the thyroid gland which gives the appearance of a mixture of soft tissue and cystic changes. This commonly occurs when there is the appearance of a thyroid goiter or after an episode of thyroid inflammation. The thyroid gland is most commonly assessed by ultrasound.
