Summary

Five women share how a Prenuvo scan impacted their lives ranging from identifying health conditions and receiving long-awaited answers to lifestyle changes and greater peace of mind.

People come to Prenuvo for a multitude of reasons. Some aren’t feeling well and are searching for answers after doctors haven’t been able to explain their symptoms. Others are simply curious about what’s happening inside their bodies, want to better understand their family health history, or are looking for deeper insights to optimize their overall health.

As hundreds of thousands of people have undergone Prenuvo scans, each patient finds themselves impacted by the results in their own ways. Some uncover serious conditions they didn’t know existed. Others finally get answers to lingering questions, or gain a clearer picture of their health moving forward. And for many, the greatest value is peace of mind.

These five women came to Prenuvo for their own reasons but each left with a new perspective on their health.

A 50th birthday present that provided much-needed insights

“Prenuvo gave me answers that the rest of the medical community could not,” says Latonia, a Florida resident who turned to Prenuvo to check in on her health. Growing up, she lost both of her parents at a younger age, including her mother at 36 to a heart attack. For her 50th birthday, her husband asked if she’d like to go to Paris. She replied, “I want to go to Prenuvo.” “He thought I was joking. I was like, ‘no I want to go get this scan to tell me more about who I am,” she recalls.

Latonia went into the scan thinking about her parents, especially her mother, whose condition she believes could have been prevented with more health knowledge and preventative care. Her results revealed a cyst in her parotid gland that she didn’t know she had. It also informed her that she had fibroids, which gave her clarity on some unexplained pain. “I’ve also had really bad cycles,” she says. “I've had regular ultrasounds, gone to the doctor, they were telling me ‘oh it’s just perimenopause and I was like, ‘something’s wrong. I’m hurting a lot worse than I normally would.’”

The experience inspired Latonia to find out more about her own family history, including calling up her father’s wife to find out how he had passed. “He thought he had an abscess on the side of his face and when he went to the doctor, he found out that it was cancer,” she says. This was a stark realization for Latonia, who realized that polys and cysts can either turn out to be cancer, or later develop into them. “But I was catching it where I didn't feel anything,” she says. Her doctor scheduled a needle aspiration biopsy of her cyst and informed her that they would remove the gland in the process.

Learning more about her body and catching things her doctors had missed has inspired Latonia to stay even more proactive with her health. “I’ve been failed so much along the way. That’s why I'm not going to fail myself,” she says. As the owner of residential assisted living facilities, she is often told by her senior patients that they wished they had taken their own health more seriously. And this is what she’s striving to do for herself now. “I didn’t come from good health but that doesn’t mean that I can't educate myself and tell my family members the things that I'm learning,” she says.

Catching it just in time

“Prenuvo found my brain aneurysm just in time,” says Sagan, a mother of three who is grateful she was able to catch her condition before it burst. After losing her own mother to a heart attack in 2014, Sagan developed an interest in her own health. She had regular check-ups and tests performed and was never given any indication that anything was wrong with her health. Then, in 2022, she fainted while showering. After experiencing a serious headache in the two days that followed, she phoned a healthcare provider. “They actually said, ‘if you had a brain aneurysm, you’d be in the ER right now so you’re fine,’” she recalls. Her bloodwork had revealed she had Hashimotos and hypothyroidism but even after treating those, Sagan was still feeling off. Thus, she scheduled a scan with Prenuvo.

Her Prenuvo scan found a brain aneurysm and suggested that Sagan call her healthcare provider immediately. Upon follow-up testing, she was rushed into critical surgery the day after Christmas where it was successfully repaired before it burst. “Getting through all these scans with my own healthcare and nothing popping up, just to have that second set of reassurance by Prenuvo is insanely priceless,” says Sagan. “Because I wouldn't be here.” She’s since had follow-up Prenuvo scans, which have given her peace of mind and is a big advocate for being proactive with your health. “I think it’s so important for people to understand that it’s not a scan just for you,” she says. “It gave my kids a mom.”

The gift of monitoring progress

Melissa considered herself to be in good health, until five years ago when she started to experience cramps and unexplained fatigue. She was diagnosed with an adrenal tumor that was later discovered to be neuroblastoma. Her immediate thought was how she could find a way to keep tabs on her health—and not just the tumor, but her entire wellbeing. Upon hearing about Prenuvo, she booked an appointment for a scan. “It was pretty amazing because I’ve been able to monitor to make sure that it’s not going anywhere else,” she says. “And we were able to find many more diagnoses that I didn’t know I had—endometrosis, colitis, spondylolysis.”

Knowing what’s going on inside her body has given Melissa the nudge she needed to take full control of her mental and physical health. “Within finding those results, I've really been able to focus my care now,” she says. “In treating the whole body I've been able to decrease my endometriosis by 3cm, I’ve been able to completely get rid of my colitis, straighten my back out.” She now gets annual scans and enjoys the ability to compare her results from year to year. “What’s amazing about getting the second scan is the comparison. How did you do better? Or is there something you could do better?” she says. Melissa plans to continue on with annual Prenuvo scans, noting that they’ve helped provide her with “a lot more hope for the future.”

A life-changing second opinion on a lump

When Ashley felt a lump in her breast, she brought it to the attention of her doctor. “My regular OB who had felt the lump said that it was soft and moveable,” she says. I’d even asked him, ‘I’m 39 years old, should I get a mammogram?’ And he said no to me.” But when she underwent a Prenuvo scan, her results told a different story. Ashley’s lump was actually hard, and it was in fact breast cancer. She went in for a biopsy just before her kids’ seventh birthday party and remembers having to sit in her living room and tell them that she was diagnosed and was planning to fight it hard. Ashley underwent six rounds of aggressive chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and immunotherapy and is grateful to have had the chance to catch her cancer before it turned untreatable.

“When I was diagnosed, the first thing I thought was am I going to be here?” says Ashley. “That's why getting a Prenuvo scan for me is so important because I want to be here for those moments.” Her scan has also inspired a lifestyle change. She’s now focusing on working out, eating organic, and meditating to manage her stress levels. Ashley has also been able to take her results into her doctor and specialist appointments so they can access them together on the app while she continues to be monitored. “If I had not gotten this Prenuvo scan,  I don’t know where I would be,” she says. “I feel truly blessed that I'm here and I'm going to be okay.”

Taking her health into her own hands

Jena experienced neck and back pain for years, eventually going to see her doctor about it. “I did get an MRI and then I had to see a specialist to read the MRI,” she says. “He just did not take me seriously at all.” Frustrated with doctors rushing her in and out of their offices and brushing off her concerns, she decided to advocate for herself. “My mindset is let’s get on it early. That’s why I got the Prenuvo scan,” says Jena.

Initially nervous to dig in deeper with her health, Jenna found the scan to be comforting. “I was really blown away by the amount of information that you get once you get your scan results back,” she says. She was provided with helpful informational findingings, including being told she had a kidney cyst. “It said it’s nothing to worry about but now I know so it’s something that I can monitor going forward,” she says.

After 13 years of working in marketing, Jena is in the process of transitioning into a health coaching career, where she says she’s realized the goal of mainstream medicine is to treat diseases but not focus as much on preventative care. “Prenuvo I feel like is not just here to get you to the absence of disease, it’s here to get you feeling well,” she says. The scan, she says, gave her tremendous peace of mind. “We just have so much to worry about these days and it’s nice to have one less thing to worry about,” says Jenna.
