Summary

Prenuvo is introducing the Focused Scan, a faster and more accessible option for people who want to learn more about their health but aren’t ready for a Whole Body Scan. Completed in under 30 minutes, this head-to-mid-thigh scan can be used as a proactive imaging option to evaluate for structural abnormalities across multiple organ systems. It’s not a replacement for our Whole Body Scan, but an alternative way to begin a proactive approach to your health.

When patients come to me curious about Prenuvo, the conversation often starts the same way: I want to know more about my health, but I’m not sure where to start.

Some people worry about the time commitment of our Whole Body Scan. Others feel hesitant about the cost or simply aren’t ready to commit to an hour-long imaging session. I understand all of that. Proactive health shouldn’t feel logistically, emotionally, or financially out of reach.

That’s exactly why we developed the Focused Scan, our new head-to-mid thigh scan designed as a proactive imaging option to help evaluate for structural abnormalities across multiple organ systems. It’s a faster process (about 30 minutes), more accessible, and value-based, helping identify potential abnormalities, including some tumors, in key areas of the body.

The gap we saw: curiosity without access

In the years since Prenuvo introduced whole body MRI, we’ve seen a clear shift in how people think about proactive health. With more than 170,000 scans completed, more individuals are seeking information about their health before symptoms appear. They want greater visibility now.

At the same time, I still hear hesitation from patients: “I’m interested in getting a scan, but I’m not quite ready for the full experience.”

For some, it’s the time commitment of a one-hour scan. Others want to first understand what the MRI experience feels like before committing to a longer exam. And for many, it’s about having a more accessible entry point into proactive imaging.

We saw an opportunity to address that.

Our mission at Prenuvo has always been to make proactive health more accessible without ever compromising on clinical quality or patient trust. The Focused Scan was created to close that gap: an option for those who want meaningful insights into their health, including potential structural abnormalities across key organ systems, in less time than our Whole Body Scan.

What the Focused Scan includes

The Focused Scan is a non-invasive, radiation-free MRI scan that images from head to mid-thigh in under 30 minutes. It’s designed as a proactive imaging option to help evaluate for structural abnormalities across multiple organ systems.

Like our Whole Body Scan, we use a carefully curated set of MRI sequences optimized to help evaluate for structural abnormalities, particularly in the brain, abdomen, and pelvis—areas that may  not be routinely assessed by standard screening tests.

Also, like the Whole Body Scan, our new Focused Scan does not use contrast dye or ionizing radiation. Imaging is reviewed by one of our exclusively-affiliated, board-certified radiologists within the Prenuvo Medical Group* who are trained to help identify a range of abnormalities that may warrant further evaluation.

While the Focused Scan is intended as a targeted assessment, radiologists may also report additional findings visible on the images, such as fatty liver, uterine fibroids, or cysts. As with any imaging, some findings may be indeterminate and require further clinical evaluation and imaging follow-up.

Who is the Focused Scan for?

The Focused Scan was developed for people who want proactive health insights but may not be ready to go for the full Whole Body Scan experience.

This may include:

  • People new to MRI screening who want to “try it out” before committing to a longer or more detailed exam.
  • Busy professionals and parents seeking a time-efficient  option that fits into their schedules.
  • Price-conscious individuals who still value the peace of mind that comes with proactive care.
  • Those who feel anxious in MRI magnets and may prefer a shorter experience as an introduction.

For many, the Focused Scan is a first step, or an approachable way to begin engaging with proactive health imaging.

How it compares to the Whole Body Scan

Prenuvo’s Whole Body Scan is our most detailed option for proactive health assessment, helping evaluate major organs, along with the brain, its blood vessels, and the spine, in under an hour.

The Focused Scan is not a replacement for that. It’s designed to help provide targeted coverage in a shorter amount of time, making proactive imaging more accessible to a wider range of people.

The difference comes down to depth and scope, not quality. Every scan we offer follows the same clinical rigor, image quality standards, and physician-led review process. The Focused Scan simply takes a more targeted path toward the same goal: helping you understand your body before symptoms appear. And, to get you in and out of the clinic in less time.

Why the Focused Scan complements standard screening

Most standard screening programs focus on a limited number of cancers such as breast, cervical, colon, and prostate, leaving many organ systems without routine screening options.

The Focused Scan is designed to provide additional imaging information across multiple organ systems. By imaging the brain, neck, chest, abdomen, and pelvis, the scan may complement traditional screening approaches by helping identify structural abnormalities that could warrant further evaluation.

Even when findings are unexpected, the impact can be meaningful. In our clinical practice, imaging can occasionally help identify unexpected findings that may lead to earlier evaluation or management. These experiences highlight the importance of accessibility and patient choice.

Not everyone has the time or readiness for a one-hour scan. The Focused Scan offers a shorter, more accessible option for those looking to take a first step in understanding their health.

A new pathway, not a compromise

We believe proactive health isn’t about doing everything at once, it’s about taking the next right step.

For some, that means booking a Whole Body Scan right away. For others, the Focused Scan is that step: a faster, more approachable way to begin exploring proactive health.

Many patients who start with the Focused Scan may later choose to progress to the Whole Body Scan, gaining additional insights across more systems over time. In that way, the Focused Scan can serve as both an entry point and an option for periodic monitoring.

Your health at your pace

Healthcare should meet people where they are. Whether you’re starting small or going all in, what matters is that you start.

The Focused Scan was built to make proactive imaging more accessible and approachable for a broader range of individuals.

If you’ve ever thought, “I want to take charge of my health, but I don’t know where to begin,” this may be your first step.

FAQ

What is the Focused Scan?

The Focused Scan is a non-invasive, radiation-free MRI scan that images from head to mid-thigh in under 30 minutes. It’s designed as a proactive imaging option to help evaluate for structural abnormalities across multiple organ systems. Like our Whole Body Scan, it uses optimized MRI sequences and is reviewed by board-certified radiologists.

Why was the Focused Scan created?

The Focused Scan was created to make proactive health imaging more accessible for people who are curious about their health but not ready to commit to a full Whole Body Scan. It offers a faster, more approachable, and value-based option without compromising clinical quality or patient trust.

Who is the Focused Scan for?

The Focused Scan is for people who want proactive health insights but may not be ready for the full Whole Body Scan experience. This includes those new to MRI screening, individuals seeking a more time-efficient option, or those looking for a more accessible entry point. It can also be a good fit for people who feel anxious about longer MRI exams.

How does the Focused Scan compare to the Whole Body Scan?

The Focused Scan provides targeted coverage from head to mid-thigh in less time, while the Whole Body Scan offers a more detailed, comprehensive assessment across additional systems. The difference is in depth and scope, not quality. Both follow the same clinical rigor, imaging standards, and physician-led review process.

What kinds of findings can the Focused Scan identify?

The Focused Scan is designed to help evaluate for structural abnormalities across multiple organ systems, including in the brain, abdomen, and pelvis. Radiologists may also report additional visible findings such as fatty liver, cysts, or fibroids. As with any imaging, some findings may be indeterminate and require further clinical evaluation or follow-up.
